Our Story

Hey, I’m Ben, the founder of Tasty Eyewear.

This venture came about through my own frustration with eyewear options and the need to create something purposeful that would do good. Glasses have long been a big part of my identity, I love the vibe of wearing them, and contacts just aren’t for me. When it came to owning multiple pairs of prescription glasses for different occasions, I always felt stuck while my friends mixed things up at the beach, music festivals, or in their day-to-day lives. The cost of owning more than one pair, especially prescription sunnies, was just too high, leaving me with a single pair and clunky, easily lost clip-on sunglasses.

I’ve started to see eyewear differently, not just as a medical necessity, but as a way to have fun and express yourself. At the same time I’ve always been drawn to purpose-driven brands, the ones that go beyond just selling a product and work toward making a measurable difference. That’s when I had my lightbulb moment, could I create an eyewear business that offers quality, classic, retro-inspired styles at fair prices while aligning with a cause I care about?

When I began researching, I came across so many incredible eyewear brands tackling vision-related issues both locally and globally. But as I dug deeper, I kept coming back to another major challenge in local headlines: food security. It’s a growing issue as the cost of living rises, yet it often goes unseen out of sight, out of mind. That’s when the idea behind Tasty Eyewear truly came into focus.

The “Tasty” brand was born from this connection: good food is just as essential as clear vision. And with it came our motto, “Look good, Do good.” We believe that every pair of glasses you buy can help make a difference, empowering you to express yourself while supporting the communities around us.
